Common wear-resistant ceramic materials: alumina ceramics, zirconia ceramics, ZTA ceramics, silicon carbide ceramics and so on.

The alumina ceramic composition is Al2O3, with a general content of more than 45%. Alumina ceramics have various excellent properties, and high temperature resistance. Generally speaking, they can be used for a long time at 1600 ℃. In addition, the alumina ceramics have excellent corrosion-resistant performance and high strength. Its strength is 2~3 times of that of ordinary ceramics. Especially, the higher one can reach 5~6 times.

However, the alumina ceramics is brittle, which can not accept sudden changes in ambient temperature. Alumina ceramics have been widely used as crucible, engine spark plug, high-temperature refractory, thermowell, sealing ring, tools, molds and so on.

Main component of Silicon Nitride Ceramic is Si3N4, which is a high-temperature ceramic with high high temperature strength, high hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and self-lubricating ability. Its linear expansion coefficient is the smallest among all kinds of ceramics. Its service temperature is up to 1400℃.

Silicon Nitride Ceramics have excellent corrosion resistance. Except hydrofluoric acid, it can resist corrosion of other acids, alkali and various metals, which has excellent electrical insulation and radiation resistance. It can be used as high-temperature bearing, sealing ring used in corrosive medium, thermowell and metal cutting tool.

Main component of silicon carbide ceramics is SiC which is a high temperature resistant ceramics. It has high strength and high hardness. It can still maintain high bending strength while being used at 1200℃~1400℃, which has been the ceramics with the highest high temperature strength at present.

Silicon carbide ceramics also have good thermal conductivity, oxidation resistance, conductivity and high impact toughness.

It is a good high-temperature structural material, which can be used for rocket nozzle, thermowell, furnace tube and other parts working under high temperature. Depending on its good thermal conductivity, it can be made as heat exchanger materials under high temperature. Depending on its high hardness and wear-resistant performance, it can be made as grinding wheels, abrasives and so on.

Hexagonal boron nitride ceramics are mainly composed of BN, whose crystal structure is hexagonal system. Hexagonal boron nitride is similar to graphite in structure and performance, which is called "white graphite". depending on low hardness, it can be cut and processed with self-lubricating property. It can also be made into self-lubricating high-temperature bearings, glass forming molds, and so on.
