Refractory industrial ceramic materials

REFRACTORY INDUSTRIAL CERAMIC MATERIALS

Refractory industrial ceramic materials used in special occasions include high-temperature oxide materials, such as alumina ceramics, lanthanum oxide, beryllium oxide, calcium oxide, zirconia, etc., refractory compound materials, such as carbide, nitride, boride, silicide, sulfide, etc.

Function of Refractory Industrial Ceramics
1. Door sealing and furnace mouth curtain of various thermal insulation industrial kilns.
2. Lining and expansion joint of high-temperature flue and air duct.
3. High temperature heat insulation and heat preservation of petrochemical equipment, containers and pipelines.
4. Protective clothing, gloves, headgear, helmet, boots, etc. under high temperature environment.
5. The heat shield of the automobile engine, the package of the exhaust pipe of the heavy oil engine, and the composite brake friction pad of the high-speed racing car.
6. Sealing packing and gasket for pumps, compressors and valves conveying high-temperature liquid and gas.
7. High temperature electrical insulation.
8. Fire doors, fire curtains, fire blankets, spark pads, thermal insulation covers and other fire joint products.
9. Thermal insulation, thermal insulation materials and brake friction pads for aerospace and aviation industries.
10. Insulation and wrapping of cryogenic equipment, containers and pipes.
11. Thermal insulation, fire compartment and automatic fire curtain in important places such as archives and vault safes in high-end office buildings.
12.Metal smelting field

The materials whose physical and chemical properties allow them to be used in high temperature environment are called refractories. Refractory materials are widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, petroleum, machinery manufacturing, silicate, power and other industrial fields, with the largest consumption in the metallurgical industry, accounting for 50%~60% of the total output. The technical development of the major users of refractories, such as steel, cement, glass, nonferrous metals and other industries, has put forward higher requirements for the quality and variety of refractories. In particular, the variety structure adjustment and technical progress of the steel industry will increase the output of high-quality steel products, and the demand for high-quality refractories will increase.
Refractory materials are mainly used for metallurgy, building materials, non-ferrous metals and other high-temperature industries, of which about 70% are used for steel smelting, 17% for building materials, and 3% for non-ferrous metals. Driven by the demand of global downstream refractory industry, the output of refractory products in China stopped declining for four consecutive years, and the annual output was 23.45 million tons, with a year-on-year growth of 2.3%.
In the Chinese market, the output of dense shaped refractory products is 13.27 million tons, with a growth rate similar to that of refractory products, among which silica bricks and magnesia bricks have a rapid growth rate of 40% and 30% respectively; The output of thermal insulation refractory products was 540000 tons, with a year-on-year growth of 5.1%; The output of unshaped refractory products was 9.64 million tons, up 2.1% year on year.

Analysis on the development of amorphous refractories
Unshaped refractories have become an important member of refractories because they do not need to be preformed and fired. The technology of unshaped refractories in China has developed rapidly, and the research and application level has been continuously improved. Its service performance can basically meet the needs of domestic high-temperature industry.
China is a major consumer of refractories, accounting for about 60% of the global total consumption, and is still the leading market for refractories.
In recent years, although the steel output of developed countries and regions such as Japan, the United States and Europe has stagnated, the steel output of China, India, Brazil, Iran and other countries is increasing, and the global steel output is still growing as a whole; Other manufacturing industries, such as cement, glass, nonferrous metals, petrochemical industry and ceramics, are developing vigorously in China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and other countries and regions.
China has become the country with the largest production, consumption and export of refractories and refractory raw materials in the world, and occupies an important position in the field of international refractories. At present, the operation quality of the refractory industry has improved, but it is large but not strong, and there are still contradictions such as backward overcapacity. In the next step, it is still necessary to accelerate the application of new refractory technologies and the development of new products, improve the automation and intelligence level of the industry, promote the adjustment of the industrial structure, accelerate the pace of transformation and upgrading, and promote the high-quality development of the refractory industry.
